Blue Blindfold Receives Endorsement from FBI

The UKHTC’s Blue Blindfold Campaign has received and endorsement from the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA) European Chapter, following a training event in Romania.

The FBINAA  is comprised of  law enforcement graduates from the FBI National Academy based in Virginia USA. This is the first time in its history that it has formally endorsed any campaign.

This endorsement follows the two special mentions that the campaign had in the US State Department Trafficking In Persons (TIP) Report. The report was published on 16 June 2009.

Nick Kinsella, Head of the UKHTC said:
"This endorsement by the FBINAA demonstrates the truly international commitment to tackling human trafficking. Combined with the special mentions in the TIP report the Blue Blindfold campaign has the potential to become an international campaign that could unify countries in the fight against human trafficking".

"This support is vital to the development of Blue Blindfold as a prevention tool that can reach victims and the general public to help create awareness of human trafficking and ultimately break the control the traffickers have over victims as the report highlights".
