Strategic Partnership Between UKHTC's 'Blue Blindfold' Campaign and UNODC's 'Blue Heart' Campaign
In April 2009, the UK Human Trafficking Centre (UKHTC) with its Blue Blindfold Campaign and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), with its Blue Heart Campaign, entered into a strategic partnership to promote each other's campaigns, aiming specifically to present a clear public image of their complementary relationship whilst clarifying their two very distinct functions.
UKHTC's Blue Blindfold - Practical Awareness, Training And Collaboration Programs For Front Line Professionals And Vulnerable Communities
'Blue Blindfold' is the international campaign of the UK Human Trafficking Centre (UKHTC), which it uses to badge specific anti human trafficking initiatives and to deliver them on a sustainable basis. The UKHTC aims to achieve, through the Blue Blindfold campaign, encouragement of law enforcement, other front line professionals and vulnerable sectors of the public to 'Open Your Eyes To Human Trafficking' through awareness & training & encouraging information sharing. It aims to promote effective partnerships at both transnational and local community levels to prevent human trafficking, protect the victims through a victim-centred human rights approach and prosecute offenders. It is hoped that the logo of the Blue Blindfold will be adopted by partners as an internationally recognised symbol of collaboration amongst professionals & by victims as a recognised symbol of help. Current partners include UNODC, ILO, IOM, Crime Stoppers International, Interpol, Europol, OSCE, Stop The Traffik, Soroptimists International and various international law enforcement and judicial agencies.
UNODC's Blue Heart - Campaign Of Awareness To Rally Public Opinion
The tackling of human trafficking, as a crime that shames us all, is undertaken by the UNODC 'Blue Heart' global campaign of awareness through the call "Open Your Heart To Human Trafficking." The Blue Heart campaign aims to rally world public opinion against the crime of human trafficking.
Blue Heart will encourage people who want to take specific practical action within law enforcement, front line professionals and vulnerable communities to refer to Blue Blindfold.
